SINGAPORE

IN SHORT:

  • Day 1,2 3 & 4: SINGAPORE

AN OVERVIEW

Mention the word Singapore and most think shopping, a great airport and a very clean city. Our knowledge of the city-state has grown over the last ten years as we have seen a dramatic change in cultural events, an incredible growth in superb restaurants and the opening of great boutique hotels. Singapore is a fantastic city for a short holiday, it offers beaches, fun attractions for the children, amazing museums and a never ending series of festivals.

Singapore is orchids, Singapore Slings, Sir Thomas Raffles, Arab Street, a boat trip downtown at sunset, the world’s tallest Observation wheel, a Formula One race at night, Chinatown, Little India, durian fruit and the world famous Arts Festival. And yes, there is shopping. Orchard Road is a start but we have much more, from secret boutiques to incredible shopping areas to local markets, and one of our resident guides is even a professional shopping consultant.

Our Boutique Trip includes all transfers in executive cars or vans, accommodation in one of our three boutique hotels including breakfasts and all taxes, local guide (if you wish) and a whole series of activities. We used to recommend a simple overnight in Singapore. We now feel four days are not enough!

COST:

Depending on your selected room type and boutique hotel and the selection of exclusive events. Optional special events and exclusive tours are discussed at time of trip booking and costed separately. We will also assist with a selection of latest restaurant options and shopping areas after discussing your interests.

Please note costs change dramatically during the Singapore Grand Prix Race where accommodation and prices are at a premium (usually in late September).

DAY 1

Arriving at Changi International Airport, you are met by your guide and driver and transferred to your selected hotel for the following 4 nights. Singapore has a superb choice of boutique hotels, the rest of today is left at your disposal and, depending of your arrival time, we can make suggestions for your evening meal. One option we can also suggest is an exclusive private boat tour along the Singapore River through the downtown area at sunset, a great way to get a handle on the geography of the city.

DAY 2

We have several options on offer for you, from a guided exploration of Chinatown and Kampong Glam (Arab Street) where we will show you the latest and best arts and crafts shops, traditional medicinal centres, religious temples and incredible food stalls. Lunch is in a very “cool” place with stunning views over the river and the afternoon is left open from an excursion to the world famous Jurong Bird Park for the children or a visit to the amazing National Orchid Garden with over 700 species and 2000 hybrids, the largest display of orchids in the world. Dinner is at one of the city’s most exclusive restaurant, only 7 tables and needs to be booked weeks in advance, highlighting the incredible Singaporean cuisine.

DAY 3

Another full day of options, you may want to have the day left open to shopping along the newly re-designed Orchard Road, if so we will need to know if you are looking for specific items as our local guides have an amazing knowledge of hidden boutiques and hard to find specialty shops and we can also take you over to the newly opened Ion Orchard (over 400 stores!!). Lunch is in an art gallery followed by a free afternoon. If children are part of the holiday, we can take them to breakfast at the Singapore Zoo followed by a cable car ride to Sentosa Island where they will spend time with Singapore’s rare pink dolphins. Dinner options tonight can include a fun evening on board the world’s tallest Observation Wheel, the Singapore Flyer, (30 meters taller than the London Eye), where you can enjoy your own private capsule, 4 course champagne dinner with butler and amazing views over the city. Other dinning options are based on your preferences.

DAY 4

This morning we can offer you a private tour of the superb National Museum followed by a visit to an historical home being renovated under the supervision of the Singapore University Cultural Centre. Lunch can be arranged at the stately Raffles Hotel, home of the Singapore Sling. The afternoon is left open and tonight, depending on the schedule, we can organize tickets at the world-class performing arts centre , a drink by the most amazing roof top pool in the world, followed by dinner in a very special restaurant filled with antiques and a reputation as serving the best peranakan food in town.

A COUTURE TRIP IDEA

  • A group of Formula 1 race car enthusiasts requested our services during the Singapore Grand Prix to arrange a 5 day extravaganza of shopping, best restaurants, VIP tickets to trials and race and hotel rooms with views over a section of the track.
